For 11 years, our shop was home to some of the best writers in the business. I’d like to count myself among them, but many of the people I was lucky enough to employ can write circles around me. In all that time, Storm is probably the most gifted natural writer we ever hired. There’s a lot you can teach—the value of brevity, the avoidance of cleverness, the embracing of strategy—but there are some things you can’t. There is no seminar for how to give people goosebumps, or lovingly blindside them, or make them reread something because it gave them so much pleasure, all in service of a brand, and in alignment with a strategy. Shockingly few writers in advertising can do this. But Storm is among the few who can, dependably, every time out. He produced moving, anthemic work almost from his first day, quickly grasping the basics and immediately applying his unique point of view. I can think of no shop, business or brand that wouldn’t benefit from his considerable talent.

Storm is a colleague and human being I’ll never forget. His writing gets me excited about writing (and, frankly, fills me with jealousy). It’s honest, original, and — no matter the topic or channel — it always makes you feel something. Beyond the natural talent, Storm pours himself into the process. Going deep on the details and going out of his way to make whatever he's working on great. He just cares, and this comes through in everything he does. In the presence of clients, he’s composed, articulate, and charming. In the presence of everyone else, he's all those things (only a whole lot weirder). I absolutely adored working with Storm, and I promise you will too.

The first thing you need to know about Storm is that he's one of a kind, in all the right ways. He asks meaningful questions, listens to what you have to say, and elicits belly laughs on a daily basis. He's also a naturally gifted writer. But he approaches each brief with so much effort and tenacity, that I believe he'd succeed even if he wasn't so talented. He is thoughtful, curious, and a quick study - attributes that endear him to fellow creatives, account folks, and clients alike. And his ability to craft a turn of phrase that's not only unique and compelling, but on-strategy, serves him beautifully. I have no doubt that he'll be a joy and an incredible asset to any team so lucky to have him.

Storm is a talented writer. One of the best I've worked with. He's conceptually very strong and consistently brought tons of insightful ideas to the table. He's deeply driven to make the work great – thinking critically about the copy, putting just as much effort into art/design, and sacrificing whatever hours he needs to push the idea further. All of this, plus thinking strategically about the assignment makes him a standout creative. I have no doubt that he will raise the level of creativity at any agency he's part of.
